Development of a Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL)-Based Interactive Flipbook Medium to Train Basic Science Process Skills in Grade V Elementary School Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). Thesis. Madiun: Master's Study Program in Basic Education, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Advisor Dr. Ivayuni Listiani, M.Pd., Co-Advisor Dr. Cerianing Putri Pratiwi, M.Pd. Keywords: interactive media, flipbook, Contextual Teaching and Learning, basic science process skills, elementary school science This study developed a Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL)-based interactive flipbook to train basic science process skills in grade V elementary school Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) lessons, and examined its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The study used a Research and Development (R&D) design following the 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate), with the disseminate stage carried out on a limited scale. Participants were 14 fifth-grade students at SDN Brondong IV Lamongan; a small-scale trial involved 4 students, while the main field trial involved the entire class. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and a multiple-choice pretest-posttest, then analyzed using average validation scores, questionnaire response percentages, and the N-Gain index. The flipbook was rated highly valid, with scores of 4.00 from the materials and approach expert, 3.67 from the media expert, and 4.00 from the language expert. The medium was also rated highly practical, with positive responses of 98.81% from students and 92.86% from the teacher. In terms of effectiveness, classical learning completion reached 100%, with an average N-Gain index of 0.78 (high category). These findings indicate that the CTL-based flipbook is suitable for use as an alternative IPAS learning medium to train basic science process skills among fifth-grade elementary school students.
