Abstract
ABSTRACT Rizka Maria Ulfa (2026). Improving Narrative Writing Competence Using the Stratta Method for Fifth Grade Students of SD Negeri Wonosari 1, Pagu District, Kediri Regency. Thesis. Master Program of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Graduate School of Universitas PGRI Madiun. Advisors (I) Dr. Dwi Setyadi, M.M; (II) Dr. Fida Chasanatun, M.Pd. Keywords: Writing Competences, Narrative, Stratta Method, Learning Outcomes. This research aims to describe the application of the Stratta method in narrative writing instruction and to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Wonosari 1, Pagu District, Kediri Regency. The background of this study is the low level of students' narrative writing competence, where the class average score reached only 50.8 and only 42.85% of students met the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM 70). This condition was caused by less varied learning methods and students who tended to be passive during lessons. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 21 fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques included tests (writing exercises) and non-tests (observation, interviews, and documentation). The research procedure involved planning, implementation, observation, and reflection by applying the three stages of the Stratta method: exploration, interpretation, and re-creation. The results of the study showed a significant improvement in each cycle: (1) Student Activity: Increased from the "Good" category in Cycle I (67%) to the "Very Good" category in Cycle II (83.33%). (2) Writing Competence: The percentage of students' writing quality increased from 65% (Category B) in Cycle I to 85% (Category A) in Cycle II. (3) Learning Outcomes (Classical Completeness): The class average score increased from 64.39 in Cycle I to 85.24 in Cycle II. Classical completeness jumped sharply from 61% (13 students) in Cycle I to 95.24% (20 students) in Cycle II.
