Abstract
This study aims to describe and explain (1) the application of learning to write children's rhymes through the contextual teaching and learning approach with Visual Card media for fifth-grade students of SDN Selotinatah 3, Ngariboyo District, Magetan Regency and (2) student learning outcomes in learning to write children's rhymes through the contextual teaching and learning approach with Visual Card media for fifth-grade students of SDN Selotinatah 3, Ngariboyo District, Magetan Regency. This study is a classroom action research using two cycles. The results of this study are (1) The application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach with Visual Card media was carried out well, this is known from the observation scores of activities carried out by teachers and students from cycle I to cycle II which increased. For teacher activity in cycle I, the final value obtained was 75 (moderate) and increased in cycle II to 90 (high) and student activity in cycle I, the final value obtained was 70 (moderate) and increased in cycle II, namely 87.5 (high), and (2) learning outcomes in learning to write children's rhymes through the contextual teaching and learning approach with Visual Card media in fifth-grade students of SDN Selotinatah 3, Ngariboyo District, Magetan Regency experienced an increase after implementing the contextual teaching and learning approach with Visual Card media, which was indicated by the percentage of learning completion in each cycle. The percentage of student completion scores in cycle I was 50% (moderate) and experienced a significant increase to 91.67% (very high) in cycle II. The average class score in cycle I was 74.58 (moderate) and increased to 84.16 (high) in cycle II.
