Abstract
Key Terms : Allowance Management, Parental Socioeconomic Status, and Hedonistic Lifestyle. Modern student lifestyles tend to be consumptive and oriented toward pleasure-seeking (hedonism), leading to spending based more on wants than needs. This study aims to analyze the influence of allowance management and parental socioeconomic background both individually and simultaneously on the hedonistic lifestyle of students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas PGRI Madiun. A quantitative approach was employed, with a population comprising 523 active students from the Class of 2022. The sample consisted of 84 respondents, determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error via cluster random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, normality tests, linearity tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests, and multiple linear regression analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 25 and Microsoft Excel. The results indicate that allowance management has a significant effect on hedonistic lifestyle (t = 3.203; Sig = 0.002), as does parental socioeconomic background (t = 6.790; Sig = 0.000); furthermore, both variables simultaneously exert a significant influence on hedonistic lifestyle (F=39.444; Sig = 0.000). These findings suggest that better allowance management tends to reduce hedonistic behavior among students, whereas a higher parental socioeconomic background without being balanced by sound financial management tends to increase hedonistic lifestyle tendencies.
