Keywords: Mind Mapping, Digital Interactive Board, writing skills, descriptive text, elementary school This study was motivated by the low level of descriptive text writing skills among fifth-grade students at SDN Bayemtaman, Kartoharjo District, Magetan Regency. The teacher-centered learning approach has resulted in students being less active, having difficulty developing ideas, and experiencing challenges in composing descriptive texts systematically. Therefore, it is necessary to implement an innovative learning model by integrating the Mind Mapping model with Digital Interactive Board media to improve students' descriptive writing skills.This study aimed to determine the effect of implementing the Mind Mapping model and Digital Interactive Board media on students' descriptive text writing skills, to examine their effectiveness in improving the structure and language features of descriptive texts, and to investigate their suitability in stimulating students' imagination and visualization during the writing process.This research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental design involving fifth-grade students of SDN Bayemtaman as the research subjects, consisting of an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through descriptive writing tests administered before the treatment (pre-test) and after the treatment (post-test). The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with the assistance of SPSS software, The findings revealed that the implementation of the Mind Mapping model combined with Digital Interactive Board media significantly affected students' descriptive text writing skills. The One-Way ANOVA test showed an F-value of 4.086 with a significance value of 0.014, while the F-table value at the 95% confidence level (df = 3, 36) was 2.87. Since F_calculated = 4.086 > F_table = 2.87 and the significance value of 0.014 was lower than 0.05, the research hypothesis was accepted. These findings indicate that the integration of the Mind Mapping model and Digital Interactive Board media significantly improves students' descriptive writing skills compared with conventional learning methods. Furthermore, the implementation of the Mind Mapping model supported by Digital Interactive Board media helped students develop ideas more systematically, improve the organization and linguistic features of descriptive texts, enrich vocabulary usage, and stimulate imagination and visualization through interactive digital media. Therefore, the Mind Mapping model and Digital Interactive Board media are recommended as effective instructional alternatives for improving descriptive writing skills in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level.
