Abstract

Biology learning in grade X of SMAN 2 Mejayan was still dominated by teacher-centered lecturing, which made students passive and resulted in low learning motivation and outcomes. This was reflected in the pre-cycle stage, with a class average score of 65.71 and a classical mastery of only 48.57%. This study aimed to describe the implementation of Blooket game-based inquiry learning with a deep learning approach and to examine the improvement in students’ learning motivation and outcomes. This study was Classroom Action Research (CAR) adapting the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 35 grade X students of SMAN 2 Mejayan in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through observation, a learning motivation questionnaire, learning achievement tests, and documentation, and were then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that students’ learning motivation in the high and very high categories increased from 54.29% in cycle I to 85.71% in cycle II, with the average motivation score rising from 59.63 to 74.51. Learning outcomes also improved, as shown by the average score increasing from 65.71 in the pre-cycle to 73.14 in cycle I and 82.57 in cycle II, while classical mastery rose from 48.57% to 68.57% and reached 100% in cycle II. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of Blooket game-based inquiry learning with a deep learning approach is effective in improving the Biology learning motivation and outcomes of grade X students of SMAN 2 Mejayan.
