Abstract
Nia Pria Kurnia Sari. 2026. The Utilization of Gimkit Learning Media in Indonesian Language Instruction on Observation Report Texts for Class X TPMB at SMK Gamaliel 1 Madiun. Undergraduate Thesis, Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisor (I) Eni Winarsih, S.Pd., M.Pd. and Supervisor (II) Dedy Richi Rizaldy, S.Pd., M.Pd. This research was motivated by the low level of student engagement and learning motivation during Indonesian language lessons on the topic of Observation Report Texts, indicating a need for more interactive learning media. This study aims to describe: (1) the planning of Gimkit learning media utilization; (2) the implementation of Gimkit learning media utilization; and (3) student responses and engagement regarding the use of Gimkit learning media in Indonesian language lessons on Observation Report Texts for Class X TPMB at SMK Gamaliel 1 Madiun. The method employed in this study is descriptive qualitative research. Data sources included the teacher and students. Data collection techniques involved observation, interviews, documentation, and learning evaluation results. Data validity was verified using source triangulation and technique triangulation. Furthermore, data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results indicate that: (1) the planning for Gimkit utilization was incorporated into the teaching module through the identification of learning needs, material preparation, question formulation, and the planning of Gimkit-based interactive quizzes; (2) the instruction was carried out over two sessions using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, with Gimkit utilized as a game-based evaluation medium to make learning more interactive; and (3) students responded positively to the use of Gimkit. Student engagement increased; approximately 80% of students actively participated in the lesson and Gimkit quizzes, while 20% were less active due to technical issues or individual factors. Evaluation results showed an increase in the average student score from 85 in the first session to 96 in the second session.
