Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) the application of the example-non-example learning method assisted by poster media can improve the speaking skills of students in grade III of Santa Maria Elementary School, Ponorogo and (2) the learning outcomes of students in grade III of Santa Maria Elementary School, Ponorogo in speaking learning using the example-non-example learning method assisted by poster media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are (1) the application of the example-non-example learning method assisted by poster media can improve the speaking skills of students in grade III of Santa Maria Elementary School, Ponorogo. This is evidenced by the teacher's activity during learning in cycle I, meeting 1, obtained a percentage of 83.33%, then at meeting 2, an increase of 91.67%. Teacher activity during learning in cycle II, meeting 1, obtained a percentage of 100% and at meeting 2, obtained a percentage of 100%. Student learning activities during learning in cycle I, meeting 1, obtained a percentage of 66.66%, then at meeting 2, an increase of 91.67%. Student learning activities during learning in cycle II, meeting 1, obtained a percentage of 91.67% and in meeting 2, obtained a percentage of 100%, and (2) The learning outcomes of third-grade students of Santa Maria Elementary School Ponorogo in speaking learning using the example-non-example learning method assisted by poster media are known that the results of completeness in the pre-cycle are 20%, completeness in the example model cycle I is 58.33% and has increased in cycle II by 87.5% and success has reached ≥ 85%. Completeness in the example-non-example learning method assisted by poster media cycle I is 33.33% and has increased in cycle II by 83.33%.
