Abstract

This study aims to improve the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Sendang during the 2025/2026 academic year through the application of the serial picture method. The background of this research is the low ability of students to comprehend reading content, which impacts their achievement in Indonesian language learning outcomes. This study utilizes a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection phases. The subjects of the research were 8 fourth-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, testing, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of the serial picture method can improve students' reading comprehension skills. The average student score increased from 60 before the intervention to 90. Additionally, student enthusiasm and participation in learning activities also increased significantly. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the serial picture method is effective in improving the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Sendang.
