Abstract

Siti Nur'aini. 2026. Efforts to Improve Concentration Through Sewing Activities in Group A at KB Melati. Thesis. Early Childhood Education Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisors: (I) Sofia Nur Afifah, M.Pd., (II) Alisa Alfina, M.Pd. Keywords: Concentration, Sewing Activities, Early Childhood Education Concentration is an important skill that must be developed from an early age because it influences children's success in participating in the learning process. Based on initial observations in KB Melati Group A, it was found that most children still have low levels of concentration, indicated by easily distracted behavior, lack of focus during activities, and inability to complete tasks optimally. This study aims to improve children's concentration through sewing activities in KB Melati Group A. This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) implemented in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 19 children in KB Melati Group A. Data collection techniques used were observation, documentation, and field notes. Data analysis was conducted using both qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The results showed that sewing activities can improve children's concentration. Initially, most children were in the "Undeveloped" category. After the first cycle, there was an increase in children's concentration, but it did not yet reach the success criteria. In the second cycle, children's concentration increased significantly and reached the established success criteria, with the majority of children in the "Developing as Expected" and "Developing Very Well" categories. The results of this study concluded that sewing activities are effective in improving the concentration of children in Group A of the Melati KB. This activity can be used as a creative and enjoyable learning alternative to train focus and perseverance in early childhood.
