Keywords: Jigsaw Model, Audio-Visual Media, Poetry Reading Skills, Classroom Action Research (CAR) This research was motivated by the low poetry reading skills of Class XII students at SMK Wahid Hasyim Jipo, indicated by low participation, self-confidence, and learning outcomes. This study aims to improve poetry reading skills through the implementation of the Jigsaw Type Cooperative Learning Model Assisted by Audio-Visual Media. This research is a collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 27 Class XII students. Data collection techniques used observation, performance tests (poetry reading), and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results showed that the application of this model successfully improved all aspects studied. Student activity increased from an average of 64.82% (Active category) in Cycle I to 82.45% (Very Active category) in Cycle II. Teacher activity also increased from 70.83% to 82.64%. Students' poetry reading skills improved significantly, with classical completeness increasing from 62.96% (17 students) in Cycle I to 92.59% (25 students) in Cycle II, and the class average score increased from 81.26 to 84.37. Student responses to the learning were also very positive, increasing from 74.07% to 81.02%. Based on these results, it is concluded that the Jigsaw Type Cooperative Learning Model Assisted by Audio-Visual Media is effective in increasing learning activities, poetry reading skills, and fostering positive student responses. Therefore, this model is recommended as an alternative teaching strategy in Indonesian language subjects, especially in literary appreciation material.
