Keywords: writing, description, think talk write, and poster media This study aims to describe and explain (1) the application of the think talk write learning model with poster media can improve the descriptive writing skills of class V students of SDN 3 Purwosari, Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency, (2) the activities of class V teachers of SDN 3 Purwosari, Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency in learning to write descriptions using the think talk write model with poster media, and (3) the activities of class V students of SDN 3 Purwosari, Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency in learning to write descriptions using the think talk write model with poster media. This study is a classroom action research using two cycles. The results of this study are: (1) the think talk write model assisted by poster media can improve teacher skills, student activities, and student skills in writing descriptions of class V students at SDN 3 Purwosari, Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency, (2) the think talk write model assisted by poster media can improve teacher skills, namely cycle I obtained a score of 23 with good criteria, and in cycle II obtained a score of 29 with very good criteria. The think talk write model assisted by poster media can improve student learning activities in the learning process, namely cycle I average score of 27.1 with good criteria, and in cycle II average score of 36.8 with very good criteria, and (3) the think talk write model assisted by poster media can improve descriptive writing skills in terms of content quality, organization and presentation of content, word selection, spelling and punctuation and neatness of writing. Learning outcomes in cycle I obtained an average score of 61.70 and classical completeness of 66.66% good criteria. In the implementation of cycle II actions, student learning outcomes increased with an average of 70.55 and a classical completion percentage of 85.18%, which is very good.
