Keywords: writing, description, role playing, and environmental media This study aims to describe and explain (1) the planning of role-playing learning methods using environmental media in learning descriptive writing skills for students of Class IV SDN Kunti, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency, (2) the implementation of role-playing learning methods using environmental media in learning descriptive writing skills for students of Class IV SDN Kunti, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency, and (3) the effectiveness of role-playing learning methods using environmental media in learning descriptive writing skills for students of Class IV SDN Kunti, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. The results of this study are (1) the planning of role-playing learning methods using environmental media in learning descriptive writing skills for students of Class IV SDN Kunti, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency was carried out by teachers well and efficiently because teachers made learning plans, (2) The implementation of learning using the role-playing method using environmental media in learning descriptive writing skills for fourth-grade students of SDN Kunti, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency ran smoothly and in accordance with the planning that had been made with the sequence of preliminary, core and closing activities, and (3) research conducted by SDN Kunti, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency on the use of the role-playing method using environmental media in descriptive writing skills for fourth-grade students can be stated as effective and there has been an increase. This can be seen from the students' scores which have increased and reached the predetermined KKM, namely 75.
