Keywords : speaking, jigsaw models, and picture media This study aims to describe and explain (1) the use of the jigsaw cooperative learning model assisted by image media to improve the learning process and learning outcomes of fourth-grade students' speaking skills at Glagahan Elementary School, Sugihwaras District, Bojonegoro Regency. (2) the advantages and disadvantages of using the jigsaw cooperative learning model assisted by image media to improve the learning process of fourth-grade students' speaking skills at Glagahan Elementary School, Sugihwaras District, Bojonegoro Regency. The method in this study used a qualitative method with a type of classroom action research. The results showed that the application of the jigsaw model assisted by image media can improve students' activeness and speaking skills through discussions between home groups and expert groups. The improvement in learning outcomes was seen from the average student score which increased from 64.7 in the pre-action to 66.4 in cycle I and increased significantly to 76 in cycle II. This model is effective in increasing students' courage, fluency in speaking, and cooperation, although there were still obstacles such as time constraints, differences in students' speaking abilities, and demands for teacher readiness. Overall, the advantages of the jigsaw model assisted by image media are more dominant than its disadvantages, making it suitable for use in teaching speaking skills in elementary schools.
