Abstract
This study describes the implementation of the storytelling method using Big Book media to improve the speaking skills of second-grade students at SD Negeri Nganti IV. The research used a qualitative Classroom Action Research design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles. The findings show that the storytelling method with Big Book media effectively improved students’ speaking skills. Students’ performance increased significantly from Cycle I to Cycle II, particularly in vocabulary, fluency, pronunciation, and self-confidence, with the average score rising from 70.1 to 87.31. It can be concluded that storytelling using Big Book media is effective in enhancing the speaking skills of second-grade elementary school students.
