ABSTRACT Yeni Nafi’ah. 2025. Improving Speaking Skills With The Role Play Method Assisted By Short Video Media In Grade V SD Negeri 1 Nglayang Kecamatan Jenangan Kabupaten Ponorogo . Tesis. Madiun: Master of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Postgraduate Studies, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisor (1) Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S., M.Pd., (II) Dr. Agung Nasrulloh Saputro, M.Pd. Keywords: Speaking, Role-Playing, Media Short Video This study aims to obtain a clear description of the learning of speaking skills through the role-playing method by utilizing short video electronic media in grade V students of SD Negeri 1 Nglayang, Jenangan District. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a classroom action research (PTK) design with two cycles. The events in this study are all forms of learning activities in the classroom. This research document is RPP, syllabus, and grade list. The data collection techniques in this study used in-depth interviews, observations; and documentation. Data validity uses the triangulation method with the source. The results of the study showed that when learning speaking skills through the role-playing method with the help of short video media in grade V students went well. There is cooperation between teachers and students. Teachers have carried out learning planning in a systematic manner and in accordance with the learning objectives.
