Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) To describe the learning process of pantun writing skills through Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach with the help of word card media in grade V students of SDN Sidorejo 02 Kebonsari District, Madiun Regency. (2) Improve the learning outcomes of pantun writing skills with the approach of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) using word card media in grade V students of SDN Sidorejo 02 Kebonsari District, Madiun Regency. This study used a Contextual Teaching and Learning (CT) approach with Classroom Action Research (CAR) or Classroom Action Research (CAR) types of research. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion it was concluded that the use of word card-assisted CTL approach can improve the learning of nursery rhyme writing skills which shows that: (1) Teachers’ skills in cycle I obtained a score of 70 thus falling within the good category, cycle II improved to 87 thus falling within the excellent category; Student activity in cycle I obtained a score of 66 which falls in the good category, cycle II increased to 74 which falls in the excellent category; (2) Students' rhyme writing skills in cycle I obtained an average score of 72.30 with a percentage of completion of 60%, cycle II average score increased to 86.35 with a percentage of completion of 85%
