Arini Dwi Shafira, 2025. The Relationship Between Educational Background and Parents’ Understanding of Child Development in Choosing Early Childhood Education Institutions. Undergraduate Thesis, PGRI Madiun University. Supervisor (I) Sofia Nur Affifah, S.Pd., M.Pd., (II) Dian Ratnaningtyas Afifah, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist. This study aims to determine the relationship between parents’ educational background and their choice of Early Childhood Education (ECE) institutions. The background of this research is based on the differing perspectives of parents with various levels of education regarding the importance of early childhood education, particularly in selecting an ECE institution that suits the developmental needs of their children. The method used was quantitative with a correlational approach. The research was conducted in Tapelan Village, Balerejo District, Madiun Regency, with a total of 58 parent respondents, taken from a population of 70 parents who had children aged 3 to 4 years. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson’s correlation test in SPSS. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between parents’ educational background and their understanding of child development with the selection of ECE institutions. The higher the level of parents’ education, the better their understanding of child development, which ultimately influences their decision in choosing an ECE institution for their children.
