Abstract
This study aims to develop animation-based learning media using the Doratoon application for storytelling material in Indonesian language subjects. To determine the effectiveness of animation-based learning media developed through the Doratoon application in improving students' understanding of storytelling material. The research was motivated by the low interest and understanding of students due to monotonous lecture methods. Researchers used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. In the analysis stage, observations and interviews were conducted at SDN Gunungsari to determine media needs. The results showed that digital facilities were available, but had not been optimally utilized. The developed media was validated by media experts and material experts with the results of "very feasible", obtaining scores of 90% and 87%, respectively. The implementation of the media was carried out in grade V, showing positive results: students were more interested, easily understood the content of the story, and were active in learning. The results of questionnaires from students and teachers also showed that this media was practical, interesting, and supported learning. Thus, Doratoon-based animation media proved effective as an innovative alternative to improve students' storytelling skills and the quality of Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level.
