Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning medium in the form of an animated video based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) for teaching story writing in the Indonesian language subject for second-grade elementary school students. The background of this research is based on the need for interactive media that aligns with the characteristics of young learners, as well as the demands of the Kurikulum Merdeka, which emphasizes meaningful, contextual, and problem-based learning. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Validation results from content experts showed a score of 82.5%, and from media experts, a score of 100%, indicating that the developed media is categorized as "highly feasible." The animated video was designed using Canva, featuring engaging visual content, narration appropriate to children’s language development, and a storyline that stimulates students’ curiosity. Student and teacher response questionnaires showed high enthusiasm toward the media during learning activities. Therefore, this PBL-based animated video is considered suitable for use as a learning medium in second-grade Indonesian language classes to help students develop critical, creative, and collaborative thinking skills.
