Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of the show and tell learning model assisted by animated video media in improving the storytelling skills of 3rd grade students of SDN Klagenserut 01. This study uses a collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects of the study were 14 3rd grade students with various levels of initial ability consisting of 6 high-ability students, 5 medium-ability students, and 3 low-ability students. Data analysis techniques through planning data using documentation with document check sheets, implementation data using observations or observations using instruments in the form of observation sheets, and data on improving instrument skills used storytelling skills assessment sheets. The results of the study indicate that the application of the show and tell model is significantly able to improve students' storytelling skills, which is indicated by an increase in grades, classical completion percentages, and aspects of skills observed during two cycles. Getting results of 50% 7 students completed, with the criteria category of 2 students with medium abilities, and 5 students with high abilities experienced an increase, in cycle II to 85.7% with 12 students completed, with the category of 6 students with high abilities, 5 students with medium abilities, and 1 student with low abilities. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the effect of implementing the show and tell model assisted by animated video media is able to improve the storytelling skills of grade 3 students.
