Abstract
This classroom action research aimed to: (1) describe the implementation of the Mind Mapping learning model to improve students’ learning motivation in Social Studies for class IX-E of SMPN 13 Madiun; (2) describe the implementation of the Mind Mapping learning model to improve students’ learning outcomes; and (3) describe the improvement of both learning motivation and learning outcomes through the Mind Mapping model. The subjects of this study were 32 students of class IX-E SMPN 13 Madiun in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data on learning motivation were collected through questionnaires, while learning outcomes were measured through tests and analyzed quantitatively. The results showed that students’ learning motivation and learning outcomes improved after the implementation of the Mind Mapping model. In the pre-cycle stage, motivation was low with an average score of 31.375/80, while the average learning outcome score was 66.88/100, with only 34.37% of students achieving mastery. In Cycle I, motivation and learning outcomes improved to moderate categories, with 50% mastery achievement. In Cycle II, motivation reached a high category and learning outcomes reached a good category, with 81.25% of students achieving mastery. Therefore, the Mind Mapping learning model effectively improved students’ learning motivation and learning outcomes in Social Studies.
