Abstract

Aggressive behavior among students is a problem that frequently occurs in the school environment, in both verbal and physical forms. This study aims to determine the influence of self-control and family communication patterns on students' aggressive behavior, both partially and simultaneously. This study used a quantitative correlational design with a sample of 178 eleventh-grade students at SMAN 1 Barat, Magetan Regency, determined through Proportional Random Sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS 27. The results show that self-control has a significant partial effect on students' aggressive behavior (t = 6.398; Sig. < 0.001), family communication patterns also have a significant partial effect (t = 7.517; Sig. < 0.001), and both have a significant simultaneous effect (F = 3785.379; Sig. < 0.001) with a contribution of 97.7%. Schools are advised to hold self-control strengthening programs through guidance and counseling, and parents are advised to build more open family communication.
