Abstract

This study was motivated by the phenomenon of narcissistic behavior among students at SMA Negeri 1 Nglames, characterized by a constant desire for praise, a lack of regard for others' feelings, a sense of exceptional self-importance, and a tendency to draw attention to themselves in social settings; if left unaddressed, these traits could lead to disrupted social relationships, low empathy, and the emergence of selfish attitudes. Given this situation, the study aimed to develop "Out of The Mirror," a group guidance medium designed to reduce narcissistic behavior among students at SMA Negeri 1 Nglames. The study employed the ADDIE development model—comprising the analysis, design, development, and implementation stages—creating "Out of The Mirror" using activity cards and reflection mirrors. These components were designed to facilitate more active, engaging, and meaningful group guidance dynamics, encouraging students to engage in self-reflection, recognize narcissistic behavioral tendencies, and understand the impact of such behavior on themselves and others. The development results indicate that "Out of The Mirror" is a viable and promising alternative for group guidance—offering both effectiveness and practicality—making it a suitable tool for guidance and counseling teachers to use during school-based group guidance sessions, particularly in efforts to reduce narcissistic behavior among students.
