Abstract
ABSTRACT Istighfarin Aoela. 2026.The Use of Flash Card Media in Storytelling Activities for Children Aged 4-5 Years at KB Al-Huda Tegalsari, Kendal District, Ngawi Regency. Undergraduate Thesis. Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University PGRI Madiun. Advisors: (I) Eni Winarsih, S.Pd., M.Pd. and (II) Dr. Muhammad Binur Huda, M.Pd. Speaking is one of the essential aspects of language development in early childhood. In the learning process, teachers need attractive learning media to make storytelling activities more interactive and encourage children to participate actively. One of the learning media used is flash card media. This study aimed to describe the use of flash card media in storytelling activities for children aged 4–5 years at KB Al-Huda Tegalsari, Kendal District, Ngawi Regency. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consisted of the principal, teachers, and children aged 4–5 years at KB Al-Huda. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that the use of flash card media in storytelling activities was carried out through the stages of preparation, implementation, and closing activities. Flash card media helped teachers create a more engaging learning environment, encouraging children to participate actively, answer questions confidently, identify pictures and vocabulary, and retell stories using simple sentences. The implementation was supported by teachers' instructional skills, attractive learning media, and children's enthusiasm. However, several obstacles were identified, including differences in children's speaking abilities and the limited attention span of some children during learning activities.
