Puspita Dwi Anggraini. 2026. Analysis of the Tendency of Consumptive Lifestyle in Terms of Self-Control and Peer Conformity among Students of SMK Negeri 2 Jiwan. Undergraduate Thesis. The development of adolescents' lifestyles has led to an increasing tendency toward consumptive behavior that is no longer based on actual needs but is influenced by internal factors and the social environment. Self-control and peer conformity are considered factors that influence students' tendency toward a consumptive lifestyle. This study aimed to examine the effect of self-control, the effect of peer conformity, and the simultaneous effect of both variables on the tendency toward a consumptive lifestyle among eleventh-grade Accounting students at SMK Negeri 2 Jiwan in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The population consisted of 134 students, and a sample of 101 respondents was selected using probability sampling through the simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive analysis, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, partial tests (t-test), and simultaneous tests (F-test) using SPSS version 25. The results indicated that self-control had a significant effect on students' tendency toward a consumptive lifestyle. Peer conformity also had a significant effect on the tendency toward a consumptive lifestyle. Simultaneously, both independent variables had a significant effect on the tendency toward a consumptive lifestyle, with an F-value of 10.685 and a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). These findings indicate that students' tendency toward a consumptive lifestyle is influenced by their ability to control themselves and by peer influence.
