Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of Indonesian elementary school students, especially on the material of facts and opinions that tend to be understood by rote so that students are less active and less able to relate the material to the context of everyday life. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model assisted by quartet cards on the learning outcomes of Indonesian elementary school students in grade III. The research method used is quantitative with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 15 grade III students of SDN Balerejo 02. Data collection was carried out through learning outcome tests before (pretest) and after (posttest) the application of the learning model. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-test. The results of the study showed an increase in the average score of students from 61.33 in the pretest to 75.33 in the posttest. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 so that there was a significant difference between learning outcomes before and after treatment. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the AIR learning model assisted by quartet card media has a significant effect on improving students' Indonesian language learning outcomes.
