Keywords: writing, poetry, imaginative suggestions, and visual media This study aims to describe and explain (1) the use of the visual media-assisted imagination suggestion method can improve the poetry writing skills of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Trembes, Malo District, Bojonegoro Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Trembes, Malo District, Bojonegoro Regency in learning to write poetry using the visual media-assisted imagination suggestion method. This study is a classroom action research using two cycles. The results of this study are (1) the use of the visual media-assisted imagination suggestion method can improve the poetry writing skills of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Trembes, Malo District, Bojonegoro Regency. This is evidenced by the data from the results of the study on student learning activities in cycle I and cycle II in participating in learning using the visual media-assisted imagination suggestion learning method experienced an increase. (2) The learning outcomes of fifth grade students at Trembes Elementary School, Malo District, Bojonegoro Regency in learning to write poetry using the imagination suggestion method assisted by visual media show that the average percentage value of learning outcomes for writing skills in cycle I was 77.78% and in cycle II was 83.33% or an increase of 5.55%.
