Abstract

ABSTRACT Anggun Maghfiratul Ula. 2026. Application of Quizizz Media to Improve Students' Cognitive Learning Outcomes on Whole Number Material Up to 100,000 in Grade V of Sidorejo 1 Geneng Elementary School. Thesis. Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, FKIP, PGRI Madiun University. Supervisors (I) Dr. Fida Rahmantika Hadi, M.Pd., (II) Dr. Raras Setyo Retno, M.Pd. Based on the results of initial observations at SD Negeri Sidorejo 1 Geneng, several obstacles were found in mathematics learning. Most students had difficulty in understanding the material presented, which resulted in their low ability to solve problems. In addition, student participation in learning activities was still lacking, as seen from student learning outcomes that did not meet the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) of 75. Therefore, efforts were needed to overcome these problems through the implementation of innovative learning media, one of which was using Quizizz. This study aimed to describe teacher activities, student activities, and improvements in students' cognitive learning outcomes through the application of Quizizz media on the material of whole number operations up to 100,000 in grade V of SD Negeri Sidorejo 1 Geneng. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was implemented in two cycles, with each cycle including the planning stage, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 8 grade V students of SD Negeri Sidorejo 1 Geneng. Data collection techniques were carried out through observations of teacher and student activities and learning outcome tests, while data analysis used percentage techniques. The results of the study showed an increase in each cycle. Teacher activity in cycle I reached 69.23% with a good category and increased in cycle II to 90.38% with a very good category. Student activity in cycle I obtained a percentage of 63.5% with a sufficient category, then increased in cycle II to 92.30% with a very good category. The completeness of student learning outcomes in cycle I reached 62.5% or as many as 5 students, while in cycle II it increased to 87.5% or as many as 7 students. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of Quizizz media is able to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes.
