Thesis. Madiun: Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Postgraduate Faculty, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Advisor Dr. V. Teguh Suharto, M.Pd., Co-Advisor Dr. Kodrat Eko Putro Setiawan, M.Pd. Keywords: learning motivation, learning independence, speaking skills. This research is driven by the significant influence of learning motivation and learning independence on students' speaking skills. It is essential that these two factors are cultivated in all students, regardless of their academic achievement levels. Providing motivation and fostering learning independence are absolutely necessary to encourage students' speaking proficiency, which ultimately facilitates the completion of their academic tasks. This study aims to identify and analyze the influence of learning motivation and learning independence on the speaking skills of fourth-grade students at Public Elementary Schools in Cluster V, Gondang District, Nganjuk Regency, for the 2025/2026 academic year. The methodology employed in this study is quantitative research with a causal-associative design. The population consists of 82 fourth-grade students within Cluster V, Gondang District. Sampling was conducted using a saturated sampling (total sampling) technique, where the entire population of 82 students was included as the sample. The data sources comprise primary and secondary data, collected through questionnaires and library research. Data analysis techniques utilized in this study include validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination, t-tests, and F-tests. The results indicate that learning motivation and learning independence simultaneously have a significant influence on students' speaking skills. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that high levels of learning motivation and learning independence will enhance the speaking skills of students in Cluster V, Gondang District, Nganjuk Regency.
