Abstract
ABSTRACT YUNARMONO HANTANG SAPUNTORO. 2025. Improving Narrative Writing Skills with the PBL Learning Model Assisted by Flibook Media in Fourth- Grade Students of SDN Gandri 1, Pangkur District, Ngawi Regency. Thesis. Master of Elementary Education. FIP UNIPMA PGRI MADIUN. Postgraduate Program. Supervisors: (I) Prof. Dr. Drs. Muhammad Hanif, M.M., M.Pd. (II) Dr. Endang Sri Maruti, M.Pd. Keywords: Flibook, Picture Series, PBL Narrative Facing current educational challenges, it is necessary to improve the quality of education. Good quality education will create a good generation of the nation. Based on the results of the pre-research in the form of a narrative writing skills test, it shows that the narrative writing skills of fourth-grade students at SDN Gandri 1, Pangkur District, Ngawi Regency are still low, as revealed by the pre-research results. Therefore, the primary objective of this study is to improve students' narrative writing skills and determine the extent of improvements in student learning outcomes in this area. Improving the quality of education through these skills is expected to contribute to the creation of a better generation. This study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, implemented at SDN Gandri 1, Pangkur District, Ngawi Regency. The CAR process involved a series of cycles to observe and evaluate the impact of the implemented learning interventions. The core strategy employed in this study was the use of a series of flipbooks as a tool for students in the narrative writing process. The results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes after implementing the series of flipbooks. This improvement was clearly evident in the progressive increase in the average score and percentage of student completion from the pre-cycle to the second cycle. In the pre-cycle, the average student score was 58.07, with 40% completion. This score increased to 75.75, with 70% completion, in the first cycle, and reached 81.76, with 85% completion, in the second cycle. These data strongly indicate that the use of a series of picture flipbook media has proven effective in improving students' narrative writing skills learning outcomes.
