Abstract

This study is a classroom action research project aimed at: (1) determining the improvement of creative character in Social Studies among 8G grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Madiun using Google Docs; and (2) determining the improvement of learning outcomes in Social Studies among 8G grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Madiun using Google Docs. The subjects of this research were 29 students of class 8G at SMP Negeri 12 Madiun during the 2024/2025 academic year. The implementation was divided into two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Cycle I and Cycle II each consisted of three meetings: two meetings for learning activities and the third for the end-of cycle test. Data on students' creative character were collected through observation sheets, while Social Studies learning outcomes were collected through tests. The data were analyzed quantitatively. The creative character and Social Studies learning outcomes of 8G students improved after implementing learning using Google Docs over two cycles, with the following results: (1) In the initial/pre-cycle stage, students' creative character was in the "very uncreative" category with an indicator score of 138 out of an ideal score of 725. Social Studies learning outcomes were in the "poor" category with an average score of 68.79. The highest score was 90, the lowest was 40, the median was 70, and the mode was 70. Only 8 students (27.59%) achieved the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP). Classically, students did not achieve the KKTP in Social Studies learning; (2) In Cycle I, students' creative character improved to the "less creative" category with an indicator score of 184. Social Studies learning outcomes moved to the "moderate" category with the average score increasing to 80.17. The highest score was 95, the lowest was 60, the median was 80, and the mode was 80. Nineteen students (65.52%) achieved the KKTP. Classically, students still did not achieve the KKTP in Social Studies learning; (3) In Cycle II, students' creative character reached the "creative" category with an indicator score of 344. Learning outcomes reached the "good" category with an average score of 85.17. The highest score was 100, the lowest was 65, the median was 85, and the mode was 90. There were 23 students (79.31%) who successfully achieved the KKTP. Classically, students achieved the KKTP in Social Studies learning. Based on the analysis above, it can be concluded that the use of Google Docs as a learning medium can improve the creative character and learning outcomes in Social Studies for 8G grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Madiun.
