Abstract

This study aims to improve students' social emotional abilities and learning outcomes through the application of interactive flipbook teaching materials based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) in science learning on the topic of electric magnetism and technology for life. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with the Participant CAR type which is implemented in two cycles in class V of SDN Sumberejo 02 with 15 research subjects. Each cycle consists of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The instruments used include a social emotional ability questionnaire, learning outcome test questions, observation sheets for teacher and student activities, and interview guidelines. The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' social-emotional abilities after the implementation of the interactive flipbook-based PjBL learning model. The average social-emotional score increased from the "sufficient" category in cycle I to "good" in cycle II. Similarly, student learning outcomes improved, both in terms of classical completeness and average scores. Project-based learning encouraged students to participate actively, work together in groups, and produce products in the form of simple media related to the learning material. Interactive flipbooks proved to be an interesting learning medium and were able to support both independent and collaborative learning processes. Thus, it can be concluded that the integration of interactive flipbook-based PjBL teaching materials is effective in improving students' social-emotional abilities and learning outcomes in science learning in grade V of elementary school.
