Abstract
This research aims to explain the improvement of students' understanding of metaphorical figures of speech through the application of the Question and Answer Method assisted by Wordwall media in grade 4 SDN 01 Madiun Lor. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kurt Lewin model. The data collection techniques in this study include tests, observations, and documentation. This research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data analysis technique used involves both qualitative and quantitative data. Quantitative data were obtained from the results of student understanding tests, while qualitative data were obtained from observing teacher and student activities during the learning process. The performance indicator set in this study is that 75% of students achieve the minimum competency criteria (KKM). The research results show that at the pre-cycle stage, the percentage of student learning completeness was only 54.55%, which increased to 72.72% in Cycle I, and significantly rose to 90.90% in Cycle II. Thus, the application of the Question and Answer Method assisted by Wordwall media has proven to be effective in enhancing students' understanding of metaphorical figures of speech. The significant improvement in students' scores indicates that this method has successfully created a more active, engaging, and enjoyable learning atmosphere.
