Abstract
ABSTRACT Andika Tri Atmojo, 2026. Implementation of Character Building of Discipline and Self-Confidence Through the Application of Project Based Learning (PJBL) in Indonesian Language Learning for Grade IV of SD Negeri 5 Carangrejo. Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisor (1) Ibu Dr. Endang Sri Maruti, S.Pd., M.Pd. Supervisor (2) Ibu Sesaria Prima Yudhaningtyas, M.Pd This study aimed to investigate the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model to foster discipline and self-confidence in Indonesian language learning among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 5 Carangrejo. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. The informants consisted of the fourth-grade teacher, 26 students, the school principal, and one student's parent. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validity was established through source and method triangulation, while data were analyzed through collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that PjBL was implemented through six stages, from formulating essential questions to evaluating the learning experience. The average student discipline score was 59.4, while the self-confidence score was 81.32. Both scores were categorized as moderate based on the assessment intervals used in the study. PjBL provided opportunities for students to collaborate, take responsibility, manage their time, and present their work.
