Abstract
This research is motivated by students' cognitive abilities. The purpose of this research is to determine (1) Implementation of the PjBL model in improving cognitive abilities in mathematics subjects in class IV elementary school students (2) Improving cognitive abilities in mathematics subjects in fractions material in class IV elementary schools. The research is classroom action research (PTK) which was carried out in two cycles. The subjects of this research were teachers and all class IV students at SDN Karangmlang 2 with a total of 7 students. The treatment given to research subjects was to improve the cognitive abilities of mathematics subjects in fraction material using the PjBL learning model. The findings of this research are as follows: (1) the implementation of learning using the PjBL learning model is in accordance with learning implementation procedures. (2) Increasing students' cognitive abilities in cycle I, the average value was 74.28 with a completion rate of 57.14%. And in cycle II the average score was 83.57 with learning completeness of 85.71%. (3) Improve students' cognitive abilities from Pre-cycle to Cycle II. Therefore, it can be concluded that the PjBL model can improve students' cognitive abilities.
