Abstract
Critical thinking is one of the skills that is the main factor in students' learning success. The low critical thinking skills of students are caused by the choice of learning models that are less varied and not adapted to the characteristics of students. The guided inquiry learning model is a way of delivering learning by examining something that seeks answers critically, analytically and argumentatively. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of learning using guided inquiry at SMAN 6 Madiun & to determine the influence of the guided inquiry learning model on students' critical thinking abilities. This research uses quantitative methods, a type of experimental research with a posttest only control group design model. The instrument of this research is a test in the form of essay questions which are used to measure students' critical thinking abilities. With a total sample of 111 students. The sampling technique used in this research is a non-probability sampling technique, namely the cluster random sampling technique. Based on the analysis of posttest results, an average score of 87 was obtained in the experimental class and an average score of 66 in the control class. The results of the correlation analysis of the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model on the critical thinking skills of class Thus, the value of R_(calculated)> R_(table) means the correlation value is very significant. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the Independent sample t-test and obtained a sig.(2-tailed) value of 0.000 because the sig.(2-tailed) value was 0.000 < 0.05 that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected, meaning that there was an influence of the guided inquiry learning model (quided inquiry) on students' critical thinking skills.
