Abstract
This research aims to describe the application of the Mind Mapping Media Pop Up Book learning model, and assess the advantages and disadvantages of this model in improving students' poetry writing skills. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method which is carried out in two cycles. Data collected through observation, tests and documentation of all class IV students at SD Negeri 3 Senepo for the 2023/2024 academic year, totaling 11 students. The data collected was analyzed using qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results of research on poetry writing skills, in cycle I classical completeness was 63.6%, and in cycle II classical completeness was 90.9%. Classical completion of poetry writing skills increased by 27.3%. The research results show that the application of the Mind Mapping learning model using Pop Up Book media can improve the poetry writing skills of class IV students at SD Negeri 3 Senepo for the 2023/2024 academic year. The advantages of this model include improving writing skills, facilitating student collaboration, encouraging active learning. Meanwhile, the disadvantages include that it takes time and provides challenges for students who are less proficient in writing.
