"Increasing Indonesian Language Learning Activities and Outcomes Basic Competencies Determining Theme, Setting and Characterization of Short Stories Through the Application of the Articulation Learning Model for Class IX D Students of SMPN 7 Madiun Semester One of the 2023/2024 Academic Year." Thesis. Master's Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Postgraduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisor (I) Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S, M.Pd. (II) Dr. Agung Nasrulloh Saputro, S.Pd., M.Pd. Keywords: Activities, Learning Outcomes, Short Stories, Articulation Learning Models, This research aims to determine whether there has been an increase in student learning activities and student learning outcomes in the Indonesian language subject of basic competency in determining the theme, setting and characterization of short stories in class IX D students of SMP Negeri 7 Madiun semester one of the 2023/2024 academic year through the application of the Articulation learning model. The type of research design carried out is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The data analysis technique in this research is descriptive percentage. From the results of the analysis it was found that the average student activity in implementing learning using the articulation learning model in action cycle 1 was in the sufficient category (9-16 students who actively carried out activities), and increased in cycle 2 to the very good category (25-31 students who actively carrying out activities), learning results in cycle I of 32 students who took the formative test completed 20 and 12 students who did not complete or achieved 62.5% classical completion. In cycle II there was a significant increase, namely from 32 students, there were 28 students who completed and only 4 students did not complete or reached 87.5% classical completeness. From these results it can be concluded that the Articulation learning model can increase student activity and learning outcomes in the Indonesian language subject, basic competency in determining the theme, setting and characterization of short stories in class IX D students at SMP Negeri 7 Madiun, first semester of the 2023/2024 academic year.
