Abstract

Indonesia is rich in cultural diversity, including traditional music heritage. One of the many cultures that characterizes local wisdom is gamelan. As time goes by, people have begun to abandon their culture, including the traditional musical instrument gamelan. Currently, traditional musical instruments, especially gamelan, are less popular than modern musical instruments, especially among the younger generation. This research was conducted at SDN 03 Taman Kota Madiun by distributing questionnaires to students, with the results showing that 20 out of 30 students did not know the gamelan musical instrument. Therefore, there is a need for innovation in providing lessons or knowledge about traditional music art to the younger generation. Based on this problem, the author conducted research on the design of a Javanese gamelan musical instrument learning media based on Android. It is hoped that this learning media can provide education and increase students' interest in playing gamelan. MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) is the method used in this research and produces a learning media created using Adobe software, namely Adobe Flash CS6.
