Abstract

Adolescents have a lot of challenges in their development, including their unstable emotional development. During adolescence, delinquency in adolescents is very common such as verbally aggressive behavior. Verbal aggressive behavior, if left unchecked and not immediately addressed, has the potential to trigger non-verbal aggressive behavior such as fights, fights, assaults, and violence. In general, this study aims to know/analyze the influence of self-control and authoritarian parenting on verbal aggressive behavior in grade 11 students at SMA Negeri 1 Nglames. The method used in this study is expost facto. The population in the study is 340 students. The research sample was 63 students taken using a simple random sampling technique. The data collection techniques are by means of interviews and with instruments on the self-control scale, the authoritarian parenting scale and the verbal aggressive scale. The data analysis technique uses the classical assumption test which includes the Normality, Linearity and Multicollinearity Test. The researcher's hypothesis test uses product moment correlation, and multiple regression includes T Test, F Test, and Determination Test. The results of this study found that there was no effect between self-control and verbal aggressive behavior, which means that the hypothesis was rejected. In the variable of authoritarian parenting, there is an influence between authoritarian parenting on students' verbally aggressive behavior. Meanwhile, the results of the test of the three variables found that there was an influence between self-control and authoritarian parenting on verbal aggressive behavior in grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Nglames. The results of the linearity test are known that the value of the sig is 0.364 > 0.05 so it can be concluded that the Self Control variable X1 has a linear relationship with the dependent variable (Y). And the results of the linearity test for the X2 variable sig deviation linearity value of 0.353 > 0.05 so that it can be said that the authoritarian parenting variable (X2) has a linear relationship with the Authoritarian parenting variable (Y).
