Abstract

Reading habits are students' reading activities obtained from books with high reading interest, resulting in good learning achievements. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between reading habits and thematic learning achievement of class VI students at SDN 01 Demangan. Quantitative research method and correlational research type, data sources taken from theme 6 subtheme 1 with indicators of interest in reading, frequency and intensity of reading, goals and strategies for reading, level and type of reading, social environment and reading facilities, in a questionnaire on reading habits and learning achievement from test scores. The data collection technique uses validity tests from two questionnaire validators and tests, data analysis techniques use the Kolmogorov Smirnov normality test and correlation hypothesis testing. In this study, only one class was used, therefore it was necessary to use reliability tests with other schools and show reliable questionnaire results and test scores. The results of the research and discussion of those studied showed a positive correlation between reading habits and thematic learning achievements of class VI students at SDN 01 Demangan and showed that the higher the students' reading habits, the higher the students' thematic learning achievements.
