Abstract
Education plays an important role as the main foundation in the development of human resources, which greatly affects the future direction of a country. One of the important strategies to improve the quality of education is to strengthen student literacy. This research aims to develop digital comic media based on the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model to improve the literacy of elementary school students in Indonesia. Research methods used The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the study show that this CIRC-based digital comic media is effective in improving the literacy of elementary school students. The trial was conducted involving teachers and students, and the results were very positive. As many as 94% of the teachers involved in the trial stated that this media is "Very Feasible" to be used in the learning process. Meanwhile, 87% of the 22 students who took part in the trial also rated this digital comic medium as "Very Feasible". Based on these results, it can be concluded that this CIRC-based digital comic media is an effective and feasible tool to be used in an effort to improve the literacy of elementary school students in Indonesia. Thus, the use of this media is expected to make a significant contribution to improving the quality of education in Indonesia as a whole.
