Abstract
Critical thinking skills play an important role in the field of education, especially in the 21st century era. This is because the ability to think critically shows a high level of intelligence and has a big impact on moral development, social development, and especially the development of science. The use of critical thinking skills in elementary schools is not yet fully optimal. Efforts are needed to design learning that sharpens and improves students' critical thinking abilities. Namely the implementation of the Creative Problem Solving model and supported by learning media. This research aims to determine the influence of the Creative Problem Solving model assisted by Powtoon media on elementary school students' critical thinking abilities. This type of research uses quantitative experimental research. The method used in this research uses the Quasi Experiment method with a Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population in this study was 112 students consisting of all class IV of the Garuda cluster, Plaosan District. This research took samples, namely class IV of SD Negeri Dadi 4 as the experimental class and SD Negeri Dadi 1 as the control class. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, the sample in this study was 32 students. So we got 16 class IV students at SD Negeri Dadi 4 as the experimental class and 17 class IV students at SD Negeri Dadi 1 as the control class. Data collection techniques include posttest and observation. The data analysis technique uses an independent sample t-test. From the data analysis and hypothesis testing carried out by the researcher, the result was that sig.(2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05. So it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted, meaning that there is an influence of the Creative Problem Solving model assisted by Powtoon media on elementary school students' critical thinking abilities. Apart from that, the results of calculating the posttest mean for the experimental class were 81.88, while the mean posttest for the control class was 67.65. The results of this data show that the experimental class that received treatment with the Creative Problem Solving model assisted by Powtoon media had a higher average compared to the average of the control class.
