Mathematics Education Study Program, FKIP, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisor (1) Dr. Sanusi, M.Pd., (2) Fatriya Adamura, M.Pd. Mathematics is a science that is used continuously and is related to everyday life, but many students cannot solve mathematical problems well, so many students' grades decrease. This results in the level of students' problem solving abilities decreasing. This research aims to describe the types of problem solving used by class VII students at MTs Bodronoyo Jiwan in working on mathematical problems involving integers which are analyzed based on gender. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research type. The research was conducted at MTs Bodronoyo Jiwan Madiun in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The subjects taken were four students consisting of two male students and two female students. The instruments used were question completion tests and interviews. The method for collecting data uses tests and interviews which are carried out in stages. Data analysis techniques are carried out by data reduction or grouping, data presentation or retrieval more quickly, and drawing conclusions or decisions on the results. The research results show that there are differences in problem solving abilities between male and female students. Female students show higher abilities than male students. Male students can solve problems based on steps, but not detailed planning explanations. Female students can solve problems using steps and can explain detailed planning. This difference shows why it is important to consider gender differences in learning. Keywords: Ability, Analysis, Gender, Integers.
