Abstract

Optimal learning is not only characterized by students who are able to meet the criteria for good learning outcomes. However, in learning students must also be equipped with thinking skills, especially critical thinking skills. Critical thinking skills are considered important skills that must be mastered by every individual. Therefore, an educational process is needed that can help individuals develop themselves in terms of critical thinking. This study aims to describe the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by flip book media on the critical thinking skills of fourth grade elementary school students in learning IPAS. This study uses a quantitative research approach with a pre-experimental design type of research. In this study the research design used was one-group pre-test post-test design. The sampling technique in this study used saturated sampling technique with research samples from IVA class students at MIN 5 Magetan. Data collection techniques using the written test method. This research instrument is a written test before (pre-test) and after (post-test) learning. The research instrument was tested with validity test and reliability test. Data analysis technique used normality test and hypothesis test. The results showed that there was an effect of PBL model assisted by flip book media on critical thinking skills of fourth grade elementary school students in IPAS subjects. as evidenced by the results of the hypothesis test (paired sample t-test) which produces a Sig value. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 is smaller than the significant level of 0.05. In addition, it is also evidenced by the results of the mean comparison of the pre-test and post-test data, where the mean of the post-test data, namely 84.48, has a value greater than the mean of the pre-test data, namely 71.55.
