Abstract

Indonesian is a compulsory subject applied in elementary school education. In learning Indonesian for grade III, the indicator of determining the main idea, students still experience difficulties. Grade III students experience difficulties in the indicator of determining the main idea because students cannot distinguish between main sentences and explanatory sentences. This study aims to determine whether the paragraph card media based on the guided inquiry learning model is effective for learning outcomes in Indonesian on the indicator of determining the main idea. The subjects in this study were grade III students of SDN 02 Nambangan Kidul. The type of research approach is quantitative with a time series research type using a one group pre-test post-test design. The sampling technique used a saturated sampling technique, the sample in this study was 20 students. The research instrument was a pre-test and post-test of Indonesian for grade III on the indicator of determining the main idea. The results of data analysis showed that there were differences in the learning outcomes of grade III students' Indonesian before learning using paragraph card media based on the guided inquiry learning model and after learning using paragraph card media based on the guided inquiry learning model with an average value of 67.50 to 79.50. Hypothesis testing shows that p-value <0.05, namely 0.00 <0.05. So, the results of the research decision show that the paragraph card media based on the guided inquiry learning model is effective in terms of the learning outcomes of Indonesian language of grade III students.
