Abstract

In the world of education, critical thinking skills are a very important ability that students must master, especially in science subjects. The importance of critical thinking skills taught to students in science subjects is to train students' ability to solve problems and develop logical, systematic, critical and careful reasoning as well as objective thinking that is needed in everyday life. This research uses quantitative research using a quasi-experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study was 32 students consisting of 16 students in class A, and 16 students in class B. The sampling technique in this research was using a saturated sampling technique. Researchers used data collection techniques in the form of tests. The data analysis technique uses the independent sample t-test. Based on the research results, there is an influence of the CLIS model assisted by flipbook media on the critical thinking abilities of class V students at SDN 01 Nambangan Kidul. This can be proven from the significance value of 0.003 ˂ 0.05. Apart from that, the results of calculating the mean posttest data for the experimental class were 86, while the mean posttest for the control class was 81.50. The results of this data show that the experimental class that received treatment using the flipbook-assisted CLIS learning model had a higher average score than the control class average.
