Abstract
This study aims to describe student activities and improvements in short story writing skills by implementing the picture-and-picture learning model. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method implemented in two cycles. Data was collected through observation, tests, and documentation of all fourth-grade students of SD Negeri Mojopitu in the 2024/2025 academic year totaling 8 students. The data collected were analyzed through a mixed-method approach with qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results of observations of student activities in learning activities in cycle I reached 70% and in cycle II reached 87.5%. Student activities in learning activities have reached the percentage set in the success indicator with an increase of 17.5%. The results of the study of short story writing skills, in cycle I classical completeness was 70.83%, and in cycle II classical completeness was 85%. The classical completeness of short story writing skills increased by 14.17%. The results of the study show that the application of the Picture and Picture learning model and serial picture media can improve the short story writing skills of grade IV students of SD Negeri Mojopitu in the 2024/2025 academic year.
