Abstract

The learning model can not only help teachers make the delivery of material easier, but is also able to build students' interest in learning, students become more active and do not feel bored with the usual learning situation. Students' thinking skills become a guide for students in solving a problem or working on a problem. This research aims to find out whether the implementation of using the jigsaw type cooperative model can effectively improve the critical thinking skills of fourth grade elementary school students. PPKn learning based on Pancasila is one of the subjects that is able to hone students' thinking skills, with all issues regarding the country and the country's basic values ​​which require students to be able to solve a problem, evaluate an existing problem. The subjects in this research were students in class IVA and IVB at SDN Bakur 01, West District. The type of approach in this research is quantitative with a quasi experimental design type of research which also uses a control group pretest-posttest design. The instrument used in collecting data is by providing pretest and posttest questions. The technique here is used to process data, namely by carrying out a homogeneity and normality test, then tested using the independent sample T-test. So the results obtained in this study p-value <0.05, namely 0.00 <0.05 so that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. So it can be concluded that the jigsaw type cooperative model is effective in the critical thinking abilities of fourth grade elementary school students.
